UNITED STATES ARMY MILITARY POLICE VETERAN INSTRUCTOR



To obtain a LTC (License to Carry) License in the state of Texas the DPS requires a class/course which trains on 4 Modules:

Module 1 Laws that relate to weapons and the use of deadly force
Module 2 Handgun use and safety, including use of restraint holsters and methods to ensure the secure carrying of openly carried handguns
Module 3 Non-violent dispute resolution
Module 4 Proper storage practices for handguns and practicies that can eliminate the possibility accidental injury to a child

There is a 25 question written test which is true or false and multiple choice you must get a passing score of 70%.

There is a Range Proficiency Demonstration or shooting course of 50 rounds of ammo and you must get a score minimum of 175 out 250 points.

Total time for class/course, written test and Range is approximately 4 to 6 hours.

Bring your valid TDL/ID, your handgun, ear and eye protection and 50 rounds or you can purchase ammo as well as ear, eye protection and handgun rental here.
